What is Infusion Therapy?
Infusion therapy is a way for us to give the medication to the patient when they're unable to take it by mouth, or it may be a therapy that can't be given by mouth, so in the home setting, a patient will have an IV catheter which goes directly into their veins, and a nurse will come out and train them in 1-3 home visits on how to give their IV medication. On a regular basis, a nurse will come back out and see the patient for assessment of their IV catheter and to do any dressing changes or other procedures that need to be done.
