Infusion therapies and the conditions they treat

This IV therapy is typically administered to patients diagnosed with abscesses, AIDS/HIV related infections, cellulitis, chronic urinary tract infection, endocarditis, Lyme disease, osteomyelitis, pneumonia, sepsis and wound infections. Contact us for more information.

Cardiac drug therapy (heart failure) - The intravenous administration of inotropic cardiac drugs and other therapies as needed for infection treatment, pain management and nutrition. Contact us for more information.

Enteral nutrition therapy - The administration of nutrients to the functioning portion of a patient's gastrointestinal tract. Typically, referred to as "tube feeding," this therapy is often used during the treatment of conditions such as cancer, malnutrition, dysphasia, injury, organ failure, motility disorders, inflammatory bowel disease, HIV and other conditions.  Need enteral nutrition therapy? See below for what to expect.

Hydration therapy - The intravenous infusion of fluids such as dextrose and/or saline solutions with electrolytes. This therapy is typically used when a patient does not drink enough liquids and becomes dehydrated. Some common diagnoses for this condition are AIDS/HIV, cancer and excessive vomiting due to pregnancy or other conditions. Contact us for more information.

Pain management therapy - The intravenous infusion of drugs to control chronic or acute pain from injury, surgery or diseases such as cancer, AIDS or end-stage COPD. Patients who need this therapy typically have a high level of constant pain and have not found relief with pain medication delivered orally or topically. Contact us for more information.

Parenteral nutrition (PN) / Total parenteral nutrition (TPN)- The intravenous administration of nutrients such as vitamins, amino acids, carbohydrates, etc., for patients who are unable to absorb nutrition through their own gastrointestinal tract. Patients who need this care are commonly diagnosed with AIDS/HIV, Crohn's disease, inflammatory bowel disease, stomach cancer, ulcerative colitis, short bowel syndrome and other conditions.  Need PN or TPN therapy? See below for what to expect.

Need nutrition therapy? Here's what to expect

At CarePro Home Care, we want to simplify your nutrition therapy. Whether you need enteral or parental nutrition, you don't have to shop around for a care coordinator, nurse and pharmacist. We have all those professionals right here, working together for you.

Before you leave the hospital - We'll coordinate your care plan with hospital staff, determine your insurance coverage for home care and contact your insurance provider for authorization. If time allows, we'll demonstrate your new equipment and teach you and/or a family member how to use it. CarePro pharmacists will work closely with your doctor to confirm all orders, lab work and the proper formulation for your enteral (tube feeding) or parenteral nutrition.

When you get home - Many of our patients handle their own feedings (with our help, of course). Your home care nurse will teach you about your therapy in as many home sessions as you need. We want you or your helping family member to feel comfortable with preparing the formula and using the equipment. We'll also show you how track your temperature and weight and how to spot potential complications. We'll check in with you when your supplies run low. Not sure of something? Call us at 1-800-755-6997 - 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Your continued care - We're there for you as long as you need us. Many of our patients have been using our enteral and parenteral nutrition services for more than 10 years. Others return to us if they have a recurring need.
