Plant from India May Aid in Weight Loss

Gymnema sylvestre* is a plant that is native to southern India. It is currently being researched as a potential treatment for weight loss and high blood sugar. Common names for the plant include cowplant, ram’s horn and miracle fruit. The plant has been used in India for thousands of years to treat a variety of ailments.

The Hindi word for Gymnema sylvestre is gurmar, which translates to “sugar destroyer.” Gymnema sylvestre alters the perception of sweet tastes in food. In addition to making sweet foods less desirable to the consumer, Gymnema sylvestre has been shown to normalize blood glucose levels, increase uptake of glucose in the liver and muscles, reduce inflammation and lower lipids. Gymnema sylvestre may even help produce insulin, which helps lower blood sugar. Research has shown Gymnema sylvestre to be safe and effective in promoting weight loss by both decreasing sugar cravings and stabilizing the blood sugar.

Gymnema sylvestre is available at CarePro Advance Health in combination with Garcina cambogia and chromium in Super CitraMax Plus. This product was designed to reduce appetite, reduce sugar and carbohydrate cravings, reduce fat production and stabilize blood sugar, which can lead to weight loss. CarePro Advance Health can also order Gymnema sylvestre on its own.
