Healthy Skin, Hair and Eyes Need Niacin

Niacin or vitamin B3 helps keep skin, hair, eyes and liver healthy. It is also very important for helping our body convert food into energy. The main sources of niacin from food are yeast, meat, fish, peanuts and eggs. Since our bodies can only make a small amount of niacin, it is important that we get it through our diet or from supplementation.

A specific form of niacin (inositol hexanicotinate) does not have the common side effect of causing a flushing sensation in the body. So it is better tolerated but still has the same benefits as plain niacin. It can be used to help lower “bad” LDL cholesterol, raise “good” HDL cholesterol and protect the heart. It can also help with the breakdown of fats, proteins and carbs. Niacin can also be helpful with digestion, anxiety, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

CarePro Advance Health carries no-flush niacin by Douglas Labs called Niacinate. The recommended dose is 500 mg, twice daily, with meals. Higher doses can be used for some indications, if recommended.
