Respiratory Intake Coordinator

CarePro Home Medical—Cedar Rapids has an opportunity for a full-time Respiratory Intake Coordinator to join our team!  In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating physician orders and referral sources, monitoring patient appointments and providing day to day clerical support for the Respiratory Therapy department.

This position is scheduled for Monday thru Friday from 8:30 am - 5 pm. Our ideal candidate will be dependable, demonstrate initiative and teamwork and provide excellent customer service with empathy.

Duties of the position include, but are not limited to: 

  • Coordinate new patient set-ups, including confirming health insurance, applicable co-pays, and physician orders to necessitate prescribed equipment (such as apnea monitors, CPAP/BIPAP, and oximeters)
  • Schedule other respiratory appointments as necessary including mask fittings, card downloads
  • Enter patient notes and updates into the appropriate software
  • Possess overall knowledge of store services and products available
  • Must be detail oriented with excellent organizational skills - must be able to help patients, answer phones, and process paperwork in a timely manner

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (GED); experience in the home medical equipment industry, neurodiagnostics, and/or respiratory services preferred; knowledge of Medicare rules and insurance reimbursement are a plus; strong computer skills required in order to enter patient information into the data system and utilize online resources, as well as competency with Microsoft Office and Internet.
