Can family help in home care?
Family members and friends are very, very important when it comes to home care. When you have a patient at home that is fairly independent, it is still good to have someone else trained in the procedures and know what else is going on so they can also help support eh patient while they're at home. When the nurses are only there coming in or the home health aides as an intermittent visit, they're only there maybe a couple times a week. Someone else keeping their eye on what's going on or being involved in the training to help support that is very important. They would actually learn wound care frequently they learn how to do the IVs so they can help manage that as well. And then the nurse would still come in with the visits but then coordinate with the families what else the needs may also be.
